Congo filed a case against Rwanda at the International Court of Justice on Friday, accusing its neighbor of legal responsibility for over three decades of violence in eastern Congo.
The move marks a renewed legal effort after a previous 2001 case was dropped and a 2006 case was dismissed due to jurisdictional issues.
It matters as it seeks to hold Rwanda accountable for long-standing regional destabilization.
