Nigeria and US strikes kill 175 Islamic State fighters

Nigeria said joint strikes with the United States killed 175 Islamic State fighters in the northeast of the country over the past few days.

The military also said the raids killed several senior ISWAP figures, and the operation matters because it shows continued US support for counterinsurgency efforts in the Sahel.
