Powerful Philippines quake kills at least 41

A powerful earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani province in the southern Philippines on Monday and left at least 41 people dead, with hundreds more injured.

Rescuers continued searching collapsed buildings in General Santos and nearby areas on Tuesday as hospitals, roads, power and communications were disrupted, adding to the urgency of the response.
