Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 13, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Fly Straight Media Kft., a company registered in Hungary with its registered office at Nyúl utca 12, 2094 Nagykovácsi, Hungary ("we", "us", "our"). They apply to the Implica app for iOS and Android and to the website implica.app (together, "Implica"). Our full company details are in section 18.

By downloading, subscribing to or using Implica, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Implica.

These Terms are available in English.

1. What Implica Does

Implica helps you understand the news. We use artificial intelligence to turn published news reporting into briefings that summarise stories, add background context and explain possible implications. Implica offers a world edition and local editions (for example Hungary, in Hungarian or English).

In the app you can also:

  • ask questions about a story in a story chat, answered by AI (section 7)
  • receive push notifications about new stories and updates (section 10)

Implica has no user accounts. You don’t register or log in; the app recognises your installation through anonymous identifiers, as explained in our Privacy Policy. This means your subscription is linked to your app store purchase and your chats to your device, not to a profile with us.

Implica is intended for general informational purposes.

2. Subscriptions and Payment

  • A subscription is required. After the introductory screens, the app’s briefings and features are available only with an active paid subscription.
  • Bought through the app stores. Subscriptions are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store takes your payment, and its own terms apply to the purchase in addition to these Terms. We never see your payment details.
  • Price. The price, billing period and any taxes are shown in the app store purchase screen before you confirm.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period and you are charged again, unless you cancel before the renewal date under the store’s rules.
  • Free trials. If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. The trial length is shown before you start it.
  • Cancelling. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. You cancel in your app store account settings (Apple, Google Play). After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Price changes. If the price of a subscription changes, the app store notifies you and, where its rules or the law require, asks for your agreement before charging the new price.

3. Refunds and Your Right of Withdrawal

Refunds. Because payments are handled by Apple and Google, refund requests are handled by them under their own policies (Apple, Google Play).

Right of withdrawal (EU and EEA consumers). If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, the law generally gives you 14 days to withdraw from a contract made online, without giving a reason. For digital content and digital services such as a subscription to Implica, this right can end once supply has started, if you expressly agreed to supply starting straight away and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal. Because you buy Implica through Apple or Google, the store manages this at the time of purchase and handles withdrawal requests under its terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any right of withdrawal you have under the law.

4. Promo Codes

We may offer promo codes that give access to Implica. You can redeem a code in the app, or by opening an implica.app/redeem-code link on a device with the app installed. Each code can be used only once per subscriber and is subject to any conditions (such as an expiry date or the length of access) communicated with it.

5. Important AI Disclaimer

News briefings on Implica are AI-generated from published news sources by AI providers.

That means:

  • they may be inaccurate, incomplete, simplified or outdated
  • they should not be treated as a primary or authoritative news source
  • you should verify important information with the original reporting

Implica does not provide legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.

6. Neutrality, Sources and Copyright

Implica does not intend to express opinions or take editorial positions. Any views reflected in a briefing come from the underlying news sources, and explanations and implications are generated by AI.

Original news articles belong to their publishers. We don’t claim ownership of original journalism; we provide summaries and contextual explanations and, where possible, reference or link to the original sources.

If you are a rights holder and have concerns about how your content appears in Implica, please contact us and we’ll review them promptly.

7. Story Chat

  • Story chat answers are generated by an AI provider (Perplexity) and may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even when they cite sources. The disclaimer in section 5 applies to them too.
  • Your questions, and the conversation so far, are sent to the AI provider to generate each answer. Please don’t include personal or sensitive information in your questions.
  • Your conversations are stored so you can return to them. You can delete a conversation at any time in the chat.
  • You are responsible for the questions you ask, and must not use story chat for anything prohibited in section 9.

8. Our Content and Your Licence to Use It

The Implica app, the website, their design and the briefings we produce belong to us or our licensors (apart from the original journalism described in section 6). While your subscription is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Implica for your own non-commercial purposes. You may share stories using the app’s share features.

9. Acceptable Use

Please don’t:

  • scrape, copy in bulk or automatically extract content
  • resell, republish or commercially exploit Implica content
  • misuse or overload the service, or try to get around the subscription requirement
  • reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it
  • share, sell or reuse promo codes in breach of their conditions
  • use Implica for unlawful purposes

10. Push Notifications

With your permission, the app sends push notifications about new stories and updates. You can turn them off at any time in the app’s settings or in your device settings.

11. Availability and Changes to Implica

We work to keep Implica available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change or remove features, for example to improve the service, respond to changes from our providers, or comply with the law. When a change significantly and negatively affects a paid subscription, we will tell you in advance where the law requires it, and you can cancel your subscription.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when we change Implica or when the law changes. We will change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we will let you know in the app or on the website before they take effect. If you don’t agree with the updated Terms, you can stop using Implica and cancel your subscription.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for decisions you make based on Implica’s content, or for losses caused by relying on AI-generated briefings or chat answers without checking the original reporting.

Where the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost income, and our total liability to you for all claims relating to Implica is limited to the amount you paid for Implica in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it, including for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for harm to life, physical integrity or health.

14. Your Statutory Rights

If you are a consumer, you have rights under the law that these Terms cannot take away, including rights when digital content or a digital service does not conform to the contract. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

15. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please email us at hello@implica.app. We will reply in writing within 30 days.

If you are a consumer living in Hungary and we can’t resolve your complaint, you can turn to the conciliation body (békéltető testület) for the county or capital where you live. These are independent bodies run by the Hungarian chambers of commerce that help settle consumer disputes out of court. The conciliation body for Pest county, where we are based, is:

Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület
1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint u. 25. IV/2., Hungary
Phone: +36 1 792 7881
Email: pmbekelteto@pmkik.hu
Website: panaszrendezes.hu

If you live elsewhere in the EU, you may be able to use an out-of-court dispute resolution body in your own country; your national consumer centre can help. The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform closed in July 2025 and is no longer available.

For purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, you can also contact Apple or Google about billing and refunds.

16. Governing Law and Courts

These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

Disputes will be decided by the competent courts of Hungary. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and we can only bring a claim against you there.

17. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information Implica collects and how we use it.
